I recently came across an interesting and heated debate about EBM
published on Chest:
Paul J. Karanicolas, Regina Kunz, and Gordon H. Guyatt
Point: Evidence-Based Medicine Has a Sound Scientific Base
Chest, May 2008; 133: 1067 - 1071.
http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/content/full/133/5/1067
Martin J. Tobin
Counterpoint: Evidence-Based Medicine Lacks a Sound Scientific Base
Chest, May 2008; 133: 1071 - 1074.
http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/content/full/133/5/1071
Rebuttal from Guyatt et al
Chest, May 2008; 133: 1074 - 1075.
http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/content/full/133/5/1074
Tebuttal from MJ Tobin
Chest. 2008; 133:1076-1077
http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/content/full/133/5/1076
Since Chest is a specialty journal, I suspect that many could have
missed it, but would be interested to comment.
Martin Tobin is a respected authority in the field of respiratory
intensive care, and a former Editor of the American Journal of
Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
The other group shouldn't need a presentation here.
