CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Anthropology News – NASA Section
The National Association of Student Anthropologists (NASA), the student
section of the American Anthropological Association, is issuing a call
for submissions for its Anthropology News column. Each month during the
academic year, we publish a short column in Anthropology News on issues
of interest and importance to student anthropologists. Anthropology News
(AN) is the world’s most widely distributed anthropological publication.
Advanced undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to
contribute. We are always interested in perspectives from students in
specialized fields such as dual-degree anthropology programs,
archaeology, applied anthropology, heritage/museum studies, and folklore.
Topics
NASA welcomes submissions for its monthly column in the form of
articles, essays, creative writing, teaching material, or reviews.
Possible topics include:
•Views on current and issues in anthropology. (e.g. How can or should
anthropologists engage with contemporary politics and/or policy-making?)
•Opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of student training at the
undergraduate and graduate levels
•Insights or advice on the challenges and realities of being an
anthropology student
•Reviews of recently published books or films (or other media) that
address topics of interest to student anthropologists
Guidelines
If you are interested in contributing, please contact Jenny Chio
([log in to unmask]). Submissions should be of general interest to
student anthropologists and should not exceed 735 words. Photographs, or
other illustrations, are encouraged. The deadline is rolling.
We want to hear from you!
