BA Regional Officer for Wales and Northern Ireland
The Regional Officer for Wales and Northern Ireland is a full time position to support and work with four volunteer BA Branches to help recruit new branch members, develop links with other local science and engineering based organisations and help create exciting and engaging public events programmes. In addition to Branch support, the post holder will act to promote National Science and Engineering Week, and other BA programmes, help with the planning and delivery of the Science Alliance Cymru and work towards raising the profile of the BA in Wales and Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will be a confident, self-starter who is able to use their initiative, excellent written and verbal communication skills and their ability to build relationships with a range of individuals and organisations. A degree of knowledge of science communication organisations and/or managing volunteers is desirable.
The post will be based at Techniquest in Cardiff but travel around Wales and Northern Ireland will be required. The salary is offered from £19,300 depending on experience. For a full job description and person specification go to www.the-ba.net/jobs
