Federated Access Management (Shibboleth) for ISI Web of Knowledge ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are pleased to announce that the ISI Web of Knowledge Service for UK Education is now accessible via federated access through the UK Access Management Federation. This is in addition to the existing IP and Athens authentication routes, which continue to be supported.
A new default page with alternative access options has been created by Thomson Reuters, and can be viewed at:
"Shibboleth users - log in via your institution's Shibboleth authentication Athens users - log in via your institution's Athens authentication"
These options are described in the WoK FAQ at: http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/faq/#reg
Institutions can request set up for Federated Access by completing the Thomson Reuters set up form at: http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/support/documentation/fasetupform.doc and sending to [log in to unmask]
Should you wish to use a WAYFless URL, you could try one that Mimas have ready for testing, http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wayf?idp=<scope>,
where "<scope>" is e.g. somewhere.ac.uk, as in your UK federation metadata.
Please contact the helpdesk [log in to unmask] if you have any questions. We of course welcome any feedback you have and in particular would welcome comments on the introduction of federated access.
