Dear Dorothy and Bob
Bob's email in itself is a sort of MO question that perhaps asks list
members how they are allocating their writing time, particularly on
computers. So maybe there's a technology/human interface project here
for that conference that just extended its call for papers a day or
so ago?
This onetime MO respondent is busy polishing a novel and trying to
sell freelance writing. Also I am signed up to several other
discussion lists.
I am writing a short article on the idea of 'stewardship' of time, so
Bob's question is also relevant to that.
It is so easy to think, at the beginning of precious writing time,
'I'll just check my emails'. A particular discipline is necessary,
especially if you leave the mailbox on so you hear the 'ping' as they
whizz in...
