Has there been detailed discussion with the student about the course requirements, the assessment and attendance criteria, as well as what her experience of difficulties is..eg, past patterns of productive versuand rest periods...?
Might it be more feasible for her to study on a part-time basis, for example...?

Subject: DDA and ME
Can anyone offer some advice regarding a learner who has a diagnosis of ME? I have been asked by academic staff to advise about whether or not to accept a learner with ME. The issue is, that this learner has said in her assessment, that she will only be able to attend up to 50% of the course due to her condition. This has caused concern as the courses involve a great deal of practical based coursework and attending only half, will mean she will not get enough input. Where do we stand in terms of DDA regarding ME, and is this a reasonable adjustment too far?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks,
eva
