Dear all,
I circulated this list a while ago concerning the possibility of putting together a Digital Classicist panel for next year's Classical Association conference.
http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/classics/newsandevents/cacas2009/
My proposed theme was around teaching and research. My original email is copied below.
My thoughts centred on the implications of using digital research publications in teaching. Has this changed the teaching of Classics? and also perhaps in what way can such resources be used to further Classics pedagogy?
I have a couple of *possibles* but would anyone else would like to submit a proposal for this panel?
Note that the question was anticipated in terms of teaching and pedagogy in general and so the research publication would not necessarily need to be your own.
The deadline for submissions is August 31st but as I will be away from 25 August, if I were to propose a panel it would have to be by then.
Best regards
Simon

I am thinking about proposing a Digital Classicist panel for the Classical Association conference in Glasgow 3-6 April 2009 with a theme around teaching and research.
See: http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/classics/newsandevents/cacas2009/
A working title would be: *The teaching and learning implications of digital research publications* which would cover two of their suggested topics (teaching and learning in the Higher Education, digital Classics).
Much of our work in the Digital Humanities involves the creation of digital resources as part of research output. In what way has this changed the teaching of Classics? In what way can these resources be used to further Classics pedagogy?
Papers in this panel could either be theoretical and speculative or be related to specific instances where digital resources are integrated in the teaching of Classics.
The deadline for proposals is August 31 but we'd need to decide what we are going to propose some time in advance of this.
Would you consider including a proposal for this panel? I would collect them together and submit as a panel along with a panel proposal.
