Basel II Modelling Manager - West Yorkshire, Banking
Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 plus excellent benefits
Location: Leeds/Halifax, West Yorkshire
HBOS stands out as a leader in the UK mortgage
and savings businesses. We’re also among the top
general insurers with a growing reputation for
excellence in both business banking and corporate
finance. With all this in mind, resting on our
laurels just isn’t an option. We believe our
success is down to innovation, and the way we
translate that into targeted and effective
change. Our Basel Modelling Team is a case in
point. For the past four years, this part of the
business has used science and statistics to
resolve complex problems – producing models which
have achieved Advanced Status under the Basel II
Accord and which will give HBOS the edge in a competitive market.
Now, we’re doing even more to build on our
progress by creating a new and exciting
management role, leading our Basel Modelling
team. You and your team (of up to 4 Analysts)
will drive forward the build of Advanced Models
and ensure the high performance levels are
maintained. You will work alongside and provide
support to a number of departments around HBOS,
working closely with Business Planning,
Mortgages, Banking, Loans and Credit Cards.
Experience
Experience of predictive modelling is essential.
Basel II and credit risk experience is preferred
along with a proven track record in leadership and team management.
This role requires a good Honours degree or an
MSc/PhD in Mathematics or a related discipline.
Attributes
You will be a confident individual with strong
team leadership skills, able to provide
functional leadership in the modelling arena, and
able to identify and implement opportunities for
continual improvement. You must be willing and
able to challenge the existing modelling approach
and methodology in a constructive manner, for the benefit of HBOS.
