This is an opportunity to join a leading multidisciplinary research group led by
Professor Michael Sharpe that studies symptoms in medical patients and how
best to treat these (see www.pmr-edinburgh.org for further details)
An experienced statistician, you will be responsible for collaborating with
members of Psychological Medicine Research (PMR) in the design of clinical
research studies and in the development of the corresponding statistical
analysis plans. These include epidemiological studies and randomised trials of
non-drug treatments. You will also be responsible for conducting and
documenting the corresponding statistical analyses, and assisting in the
interpretation and reporting of the results.
You will benefit from close association with the University medical statistics
group and will receive supervision from Professor Gordon Murray. You will also
be able to take advantage of PMR’s membership of Edinburgh Clinical Trials
Collaboration and its links with the UK NCRI COMPASS research collaborative,
the Scottish Mental Health Research Network and inter-departmental
collaboration with the University Divisions of Primary Care, Oncology,
Neurology and Medical Statistics.

This post is available on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2012 but
potentially renewable depanding of the progmme being renewed.
