Salary: £24,403 - £29.138 pa
We are looking for an organised and self-motivated candidate to fill this
post within the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Botnar
Research Centre. The post-holder will support the research, consulting and
teaching activities if the NIHR Biomedical Research Unit and working closely
with a senior statistician and data manager, as well as a team of
rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons and bio-engineers. The primary aim is
to support the development of a predictive tool using large databases of
patient records. There is also scope for applying for DPhil at Oxford
University.
Candidates must have a MSc in statistics (minimum 2:1) and one years post
MSc work experience. Computer literacy and expertise in statistical packages
such as SAS, Stata, SPSS is expected. The ability to prioritize workload,
work independently and write reports to a tight deadline is essential.
Applicants must be flexible to learn new skills and have good attention to
detail, as well as being self-motivated with good organisation and time
management skills. Experience within a bio-statistics/epidemiology research
field would be an advantage.
