Senior Biostatistician

This is an excellent opportunity for a Statistician with relevant experience to 
work for one of the global giants in the pharmaceutical world, known as a 
leading name in the discovery, development and marketing of innovative 
pharmaceutical products which cure diseases, ease suffering and enhance the 
quality of life.  They are seeking a Senior Biostatistician at their office in East 
Hanover, New Jersey who will support the company’s team leader in 
Biostatistics.

JOB ROLE:  The Senior Biostatistician supports projects and functions 
throughout Research and Development, including compound selection, 
exploratory clinical development, and late development, with decision analysis 
and statistical modeling. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include:   
•	Integrating information, opinion, and data regarding drug efficacy, 
safety, and market conditions to evaluate alternatives and choose the best 
course of action in scenario planning for clinical trials and development 
programs. 
•	Guiding teams through high quality decision processes. 
•	Identifying, evaluating, and promoting opportunities to make drug 
development more effective through decision analytic approaches. 
•	Developing, implementing and applying computational methods for 
fitting, evaluating, and interpreting complex biological, pharmacological, and 
empirical models.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
•	Advanced degree in a relevant quantitative field. 
•	1-3 years relevant experience required.
•	Either a predominantly academic or industry background (Clinical 
Trial related) 
•	Training in and practical experience in carrying out decision 
analysis. 
•	Knowledge of the drug development process and pharmaceutical 
industry. 
•	Good knowledge of mathematical programming languages and 
techniques (e.g., SAS, S PLUS, R, WinBUGS, MATLAB).
