1807 Commemorated Conference
18th - 19th September 2008
King's Manor, York
Dear all,
The 1807 Commemorated project would like to invite you to a conference in York on the 18th and 19th of September 2008.
The two-day conference will be an opportunity for the project team to present the results of the large scale audience surveys carried out at 7 museums which marked the bicentenary of the 1807 abolition act. Alongside this a number of activists, academics and artists will deliver their own experiences and perspectives on the work carried out in museums in 2007.
Attending the conference will be an audience of museum practitioners, community consultants and academic advisors.
We hope the event will be an opportunity to engage in some of the issues of representing enslavement, abolition and traumatic histories more generally.
Please find the timetable for the conference beneath.
If you would like to attend please let me know and I will reserve a place for you. If you require any details about accommodation or travel arrangement please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
Ross Wilson
