medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I'm beginning to catch on that it's that word "original" that's the hang up. Considering verse 12 of Ch. 5 of Romans:
12 Well then; it was through one man that sin came into the world, and through sin death, and thus death has spread through the whole human race because everyone has sinned. (Jerusalem Bible)
If Paul speaks of one man through whom sin came into the world, I inferred that that more or less constituted the original sin. But I'm frankly a bit tired of this non-medieval to-and-fro and will yield to anyone on this matter. I could also check the RSV but am missing a favorite TV show.
End of (my) discussion.
