Subject: Combined MSc + PhD in Copmputational Mechanics and High
Performance Computing
Andrew,
I would appreciate it if you could circulate details of this combined
MSc +
PhD EPSRC scholarship.
I have an EPSRC PhD studentship available in Computational Mechanics and
High Performance Computing. The funding covers a unique combination of a
1
year MSc programme in High Performance Computing at EPCC Edinburgh
(www.epcc.ed.ac.uk) and a 3 year PhD programme in the Civil Engineering
Department of The University of Glasgow (www.civil.gla.ac.uk) working on
multi-scale analysis of heterogeneous materials.
Through the unique HPC training, the student will acquire cutting edge
skills in high performance computing. The proposed project will then
allow
the student to build upon these skills beyond the MSc training. The
University of Glasgow has developed a Finite Element based computational
modelling environment for multi-scale analysis of heterogeneous
materials.
This is an exciting and rapidly developing research field with wide
application.
Applications (covering letter, CV, contact details of two referees) to
Chris
Pearce at the University of Glasgow ([log in to unmask])
Full details attached.
