Lift is seeking an individual interested in developing the creative
learning potential of a theatre and performance archive, to undertake
original research and development during August – September and possibly
into the autumn academic term.
The Lift Living Archive is a unique learning resource, illuminating a
diversity of contemporary international theatre and performance production
over 20 years.
The successful placement will work with Lift to develop a feature Archive
Trail for the Lift Living Archive website. The trail will function as an
example of how users can creatively engage with the archive as a creative
tool for learning.
During the placement you will:
• View and research archive materials digitised for the Lift Living
Archive Website
• Identify a target user group to develop an archive trail for
• Develop a thematic framework for your trail, which supports the
creative learning objectives of your target user group
• Select up to 20 digitised items for inclusion in the trail
• Compose original content, which supports and contextualizes your
selection
You may also be invited to extend your research placement by:
• Assisting in planning an intensive Lift Living Archive development
workshop in September.
• Supporting the Pilot Lift Living Archive Workshops process at
Goldsmiths University during 2008/09 autumn and spring terms.
This Placement gives you the opportunity to develop your research skills
and build professional relationships within the theatre and performing
arts sector.
The successful individual will negotiate an attendance timetable with Lift
(typically in the range 1-3 days per week or equivalent). A £12 per diem
will be paid to help cover costs incurred while working on the Lift Living
Archive project.
