Welcome to Our Heritage

A one day training programme for community groups who want to share their heritage.

Are you interested in developing your skills as a heritage champion within your community?

Are you interested in helping people get the most out of visits to your community?

YOU ARE ! Then Welcome to Our Heritage is for you.

Why Welcome to Our Heritage?

The course has been developed to support the aims and objectives of the HERIAN project. The HERIAN project exists to encourage the communities of industrial South Wales to take ownership of their own story and provide over the longer term a meaningful experience for visitors and improve heritage tourism in a sustainable, visitor friendly way.

Cost of Welcome to Our Heritage?

The courses are subsidised thanks to our partner organisations and area-specific funders like WAG's Heads of The Valleys Programme but we require a cheque deposit of £15 per person which is given back to you if you attend on the day.

What is Welcome to Our Heritage?
A one day, six hour course to develop skills in putting local heritage into its regional and national context:

		Ø	Customer Service Essentials.
Ø	Putting local heritage into its regional and national context.
Ø	Exploring and Interpreting your local stories.
Key to the success of this seminar is pre-course work which involves finding more about the unique features your area has to offer. You will find it fun to complete

Where & When Welcome to Our Heritage?

We will be running the courses throughout the autumn and winter in locations across south Wales. Depending on the size of your group we can arrange one at a venue to suit you.

Who's for Welcome to Our Heritage?

Recommended for everyone:
Ø	Who comes into contact with visitors.
Ø	Who is involved in a community driven heritage project.
Ø	Working somewhere that serves or is of interest to our visitors.
Ø	Who is keen to show off the assets of their local community to visitors.
Who is aiming to work in serving visitors.
