definitely a Germanically Bigger, Better Killing Machine than the too-modest
Spanish attempt:

although both of them, being so short and all, might require several whacks of
the beetle to Get the Job Done.
which might Smart a bit, till it was over.

i really like the superbly Prissy Fellow on the far right, the artist
himself(?) looking at us just to the left of him and, above all, the wonderful
Swooning Chick next to the gesturing Towelhead who seems to be eying the
little image of the mysterious fellow with the wheel (clearly an Old Fashioned
means of martyrdom) and the star on his crown(?).
who is that guy, i wonder?
i don't think that i've ever seen the motif of the broken pieces of tracery
--which appear not to have been actually broken off, since they are painted--
at the top before.
but Late Middlevil Painting is definitely not my Bag.
what's with the scaffolding(??) on the castle?
my first though was a (or two) gallows, but the one on top seems to be holding
a bell(?) and the one spanning the little valley.... ah, i see now, it's a
bridge to the tower on the right, the drawbridge being up.
crafty middlevils.
