The issue (and importance) of consistent branding/terminology between
service providers has been raised off and on on these lists several
times before.
My understanding was that 'UK Federation' or similar was the term most
were adopting, e.g. Edina resources, and jiscmail moving from using
'Shibboleth' to 'UK Federation'.
However this webpage:
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/themes/access_management/federation/publisherlogin.aspx
Suggests service providers do otherwise, explicitly discouraging
'Federation'.
It seems desirable to get one message across to users, 'when you go to a
resource look out for ??? to select to sign-in'.
Are resources being encouraged to move away from 'UK Federation' or
Shibboleth and instead use 'Login via your home institution' or similar?
May need to update some parts of our help pages if this is the case.
Cheers
Chris
