UNHCR's Policy Development and Evaluation Service (PDES) would like to hear
from anyone who would be interested in undertaking a research project
on 'Witchcraft, witchcraft allegations and human displacement'. The purpose
of the project is (a) to collect and analyze the available evidence on
the issue
of witchcraft in refugee, returnee and IDP settings; (b) to ascertain the
extent to which this issue is an important protection concern: (c) to
determine
what steps UNHCR and its partners can take to address the problem. The
results of the research will be published in the UNHCR series, 'New
Issues in
Refugee Research'. Unfortunately, UNHCR is not in a position to provide
funding for this project, which would make an ideal topic for a Master's
dissertation.
