Dear Allstaters,
Suppose that we have to
compare 2 hypotheses: A and B. For this we apply model
comparison techniques. With
Bayes factors we conclude that hypothesis A is better than B,
whereas with AIC and BIC we
conclude that hypothesis B is more preferable than A. What
should our conclusions be
and how can we drive these conclusions? Is there any
bibliography for that?
I am not asking about why
these two approaches are different. OK, two different techniques
give contradictory results.
Which one should we trust?
Any help or recommendation
would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sotiris
