Thanks, David, your friend is right.
Whew.
But, it really is something to actually be there, on a canal, looking
at the wonderful old buildings, their doorways opening right onto the
water...
& at night, it is truly magical
but, yeah, expensive is the word...
on the other hand, being able to wander thru Peggy Guggenheim's old
house (just a little thing, you know) seeing what she collected,
amazing stuff, for someone with my taste, after having my eyes worn
out with medieval & renaissance Madonnas etc, it was a true eye
cleaner....
