Emerging publishing models: exploring new ventures for science publishing
You are invited to this one-day event, organised by the RIOJA (Repository
Interface for Overlaid Journal Archives) project, which will be held at
Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge on Monday July 7th.
RIOJA (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/ls/rioja) has been investigating aspects of
repository-overlay journals. The event aims to build on this work and bring
together speakers and panellists representing the academic, publishing and
library communities, as well as funding bodies, and to address challenges,
roles and responsibilities associated with new publishing models.
As well as the main RIOJA findings, topics covered during the programme will
include:
• journal-repository interactions,
• new models of peer review,
• content archiving and preservation,
• metrics and the UK's Research Excellence Framework,
• the management, quality assurance and re-use of data in scientific
publishing.
The keynote address will be given by Stephen Pinfield, Chief Information
Officer, University of Nottingham.
The event will be of interest to the academic, library, repository and
publishing communities. Attendance is free of charge. For further details,
