JBA is a high technology consultancy business based on the Broughton Hall
Business Park, near Skipton.
We are currently looking for a recent graduate GIS professional with one
year of experience to work in our multi-disciplinary Geographical
Information Systems Division. Our client base includes blue chip
multinationals, national and international agencies and utility
companies.
This position will involve the conversion of bespoke MapInfo tools
(MapBasic and VB MapX) to ArcGIS ArcObjects. Proven software development
experience in ESRI ArcGIS together with good presentation and team-working
skills is essential. The position will be for 12 months initially with a
n option of a permanent position.
A degree, HNC or NVQ in GIS or PC applications development is required.
Alternatively we will consider other qualifications if combined with
demonstratable experience in GIS software development.
Programming experience and systems specification, preferably using VB,
VBA , C++ or .NET is required. Familiarity with the Access/SQL-Server
Database/GIS application experience is also of interest.

The post holder will be entitled to between 20 and 23 days holiday per
year (depending on experience) rising to 25 after qualifying service, plus
