Call for Papers: We welcome contributed oral papers or posters on
application of statistical and mathematical theory and methods in the
biosciences, including agriculture, biomedical science, ecology,
environmental sciences, forestry, and allied disciplines as well as
papers that develop, enhance or demonstrate GenStat software. We
particularly encourage papers that are practical.
Themes and Confirmed Invited speakers:
Hierarchical Generalised Linear Models:
Prof Youngjo Lee, Seoul National University,
Applications in Primary Industries and Environments
Prof David Lindenmayer and Dr Ross Cunnigham, ANU, Canberra,
Dr Peter Clarke, (Department of Agriculture and Food, Western
Australia)
Mrs Parin Kurji, Head Biometrician, University of Nairobi,
Kenya
Linear Mixed Effect Models
Dr Nick Galwey, Genetic Analysis, GlaxoSmithKline, UK
Restricted Randomisation
Prof Rosemary Bailey, Queen Mary College, University of London,
UK
GenStat: Advancements and Enhancements
Prof Roger Payne, Chief Science & Technology Officer, VSNi, UK
This conference traditionally has a friendly atmosphere and attracts a
mix of consulting biometricians and people developing methods for
applied statistics, not all of whom are GenStat users. It is a chance to
meet the GenStat developers and to hear about new features in the
package, but a major focus is on biometrical applications and new
developments in biometrics.
