Your friend was right. The only time I slept in Rome was thanks to a
convention. And in summer the water of the canals stinks. A couple, friends
of mine, were able to buy a tiny flat that they slowly restored, one of the
two was literally in love with Venice and knew so much of its history. It
could take you a lifetime to get to just part of its past, amazing.
To say that every time I go to Venice, I am brought back to some kind of
deep interest for the town. Also this feeling, renewed and original in its
essence, needs its space.
