Thank you, Rosalind, for such a detailed and inspiring account of events at
the BERA Practitioner Day at the Institute. Your account helped me to relive
the delight and also the critical engagement I experienced as I listened to
Susan Groundwater-Smith's keynote. If I remember rightly she raised an
issue of pupils as being the learners in classrooms. I was intrigued as I
have hope and faith in a capacity and reality of teachers as learners
alongside pupils. When I see the term 'personalised learning' this is what
comes to mind for me.
The BERA Practitioner Day is to be recommended for this year's conference
too. I do feel surprised that there needs to be a separate day at BERA
conference for this - a glance at the list of presenters for our four SIG
symposia might reinforce convictions that we are all 'practitioners'... all
seeking to learn.
Thank you again, Rosalind, much appreciated - and all the best for your viva!
