The Media and Cultural Studies subject team wishes to appoint a Lecturer in
Media and Cultural Studies within a dynamic and rapidly growing subject
area based in the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences.
You should have a PhD and experience of contributing to the development of
undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The subject area offers a BA
(Hons) Media, Communication and Cultural Studies, MA Media and Journalism,
MA Media and Public Relations and MA International Multi-media Journalism.
The team also supervises a number of PhD students. You will show evidence
of a promising publications record and the capacity to contribute into
research in the field of identities, media and culture. You will deliver
modules on the undergraduate and masters programmes and will have an
opportunity to offer a specialist module related to your research. An
ability to design and teach modules in any of the following is desirable:
global communication, media policy, discourse and identities, visual
cultures, feminist media and culture, communication in professional
contexts, popular culture and advertising.
