Susan,
considering its a 45 mins session with KS2,perhaps you might want to consider focusing on the mascots and what they represent ( Beijing welcomes you) and possibly tie it in with Art / ICT.
Some useful resources:

Subject: Any teaching ideas?
Dear All Teachers,
My school will have a taster day lessons (Arts, Music, Science, Textiles, PE and Mandarin) for Year 5 students next week. The theme is Beijing Olympics Games. I have one session (45 minutes) Mandarin lesson. Can any teacher give me some interesting and challenging ideas which I should teach?
I will appreciate for all your advice and suggestions.
Susan Fitzhenry
