I am new to this list, and searching for the title of a book I was
given in 1937 about the Conquest/colonisation of Africa. It was an
illustrated book for children. Communists caused that book to
vanish because it boosted Trotskyists on the last page, and today
Trotskyists might also cause it to vanish as it goes on to use
politically incorrect language.
I was given it in South Wales before I could talk, together with a
beautiful black china doll. - a very odd present for a boy? Or
subtle psychology by a man trying to occasionally stand in for a
father who had gone to Spain. The gifter lived in South Wales
where a carribean trotskyist C. L. R. James was quite popular.
It may now be an extinct book but if anyone can put a title,
author, or a source to it, please email ilyan.thomas at virgin.net

If that book was sucessfully distributed in Africa and the
Carribean, it could have been an Empire ending tinder.
