There will be a session on biomimetic composites at the 17th
International Conference on Composite Materials in Edinburgh, UK, next
year (27-31 July, 2009). This is the largest international conference
in the field of composites, covering a wide range of topics.
We welcome contributions in all aspects of biomimetics, including
increased understanding of composite materials and structures in
biology as well as in technology. The Journal of Bionic Engineering (http://202.98.18.60:88/
) will accept conference papers for publication, subject to the usual
criteria.
You can learn more about the conference at http://www.iccm17.org where
you can also submit your title / abstract / paper.
A good way to ensure that your paper ends up in the biomimetics
session is to include the word "biomimetic" (or "bionic", or
"biomimicry", or "bioinspired" . . . ) in the title!
You can get more information from the convenors of this part of the
Conference, Julian Vincent ([log in to unmask]) and Lars
Berglund ([log in to unmask])
