Six Sigma at RSS2008 Conference, Nottingham, September 2008
For those interested in Quality Improvement in general and Six Sigma and Lean in particular there are two days of potential interest at the Royal Statistical Society 2008 Conference in Nottingham.
Monday 1st September 2008 ENBIS Six Sigma for Healthcare Course
Presented by Shirley Coleman (University of Newcastle upon Tyne) and Ron Kennett (KPA Ltd and University of Torino) this one-day pre-conference course details the history of Six Sigma, describes what it is and shows how it is implemented via case studies from healthcare providers in the US, Israel and the UK.
Tuesday 2nd September Six Sigma Sessions on Day 1 of Conference
Two invited speakers, with vast experience of quality improvement, Lean and Six Sigma, Professors Tony Bendell of Services Ltd and John Oakland of Oakland Consulting plc will present a morning session. Professor Bendell will put emphasis on techniques and methodology and Professor Oakland will deal with strategic issues, Lean and Six Sigma.
In one of the afternoon sessions the two morning speakers will be joined by two others to form a panel. The session will involve a debate on a topical aspect of Lean and Six Sigma.
Another afternoon session will involve three contributed papers with speakers Roland Caulcutt, Carolyn Craggs and Ron Kennett with Shirley Coleman.
