Spatial models for Scottish health data
This project involves the modelling of health data held by the
Information and Statistics Division (ISD) of NHS Scotland. The
focus of the project lies in the construction of models for a
variety of diseases where the spatial variation is of particular
interest. Visualisation of the data and the fitted models is
also an important part of the work. Data are often also available
across time.
The work will be based in the Department of Statistics at the
University of Glasgow but will be carried out in conjunction with
ISD. The project will be supervised by Adrian Bowman and
Duncan Lee at the Department of Statistics at the University of
Glasgow and Mary Sweetland at ISD.
The studentship, which is funded for one year by ISD, includes a
stipend of 12,940 pounds and also covers the cost of university fees
at the EU rate. The work will involve regular visits to the Glasgow
offices of ISD.
