I would say that this should work in general, but it might work in same cases. I may mainly depend on the TR, since a task correlated movement will occur immediately when the task starts, while the BOLD signals peaks later. So, having used a short TR could give you the chance to separate these signals, with long TRs I would be less sure that you sufficiently get these effects separated. But, however, that's just a guess, I've never tried it in that way.
