RESEARCH STATISTICIAN
(2 POSTS)
Applications are invited for two full-time positions as research
statisticians within the HIV Epidemiology & Biostatistics Group in the
Research Department of Infection & Population Health. The posts are for
three years and involve responsibility for statistical analysis and some
data management of studies of people with HIV infection. Post 1 will
mainly involve analysis of various large cohort studies of people with HIV
based mainly in the UK and Europe. Post 2 will involve analyses on a
large collaborative cohort study of patients with HIV which focuses on
adverse effects of antiretroviral drugs. Applicants should have a good
first degree in mathematics or statistics with an MSc in Medical
Statistics, and knowledge of the statistical package SAS. We shall also
accept applications from students expecting to complete their MSc in
Medical Statistics this summer. Excellent written/spoken English and
communication skills are also essential.
Salary is on the University Research Scale Grade 6 point 23, £25,651
rising to £28,537 (including London Weighting of £2,649) and these posts
