It reminds me of the old days of hacking BASIC on my VIC-20. You always
started off with line numbers 10, 20, 30... in case you had to put a new
one in. Of course, lines didn't have symbolic names. I agree with Malcolm
that we should use symbolic names instead of numbers, as long as they're
consistent across all applications. That way, if we do manage to imagine
up 15 levels, adding a sixteenth between 8 and 9 doesn't cause gnashing of
teeth and rending of hair.
