Behind glass at my favorite local gas station, one Nigerian co-owner is always reading. Mostly
paperback thrillers, but on one occasion a hardback treating the relationship between MLK & RK. I
told him last time I pumped that I couldn't remember another circumstance in which I observed a
reader staffing a gas station, and that was one reason I became a regular customer. Have considered
offering him the reading copies of African novels I've gathered over the years.
