Andy, many thanks for solving the mystery (and likewise to others who
have replied to me both on and off-list). I suspected that the token
looked too fresh to date from the early 1800's, and now we know it
wasn't minted by the Cornish Copper Company either. I've even learned
something about the county councils, which we don't have over here!

I have a copy of the said token. It was produced by Cornwall County
Councils museum service for sale in Truro museum as a replica in the
early 1970s, The reason for the CCC marking is to indicate that it is a
replica rather than an original. Hope this helps.
