medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Thanks for this link!
I've long been an admirer of Richter's work, but he is still a painter first. The real gods of glass in our day start with Georg Meistermann, Ludwig Shaffrath,
Johannes Schreiter, et al and continue down to the amazing creative work of their heirs such as Sarah Hall, Guy Kemper, B.J. Katz, et al. Amazing stuff
and some have argued the first era since the Middle Ages to push the technology of art glass to new levels. Hall, for instance, recently completed a tower
in Vancouver which incorporates solar cells into the glasswork. The cells provide the power for the structures lighting.
And yes, the 19th c. artists seemed pretty adept at reproducing Medieval work with remarkable accuracy.
