For what it is worth (and I didn't set up our Idp)

I show up as

HTTP_SHIB_EP_AFFILIATION [log in to unmask];[log in to unmask]

The XML being (again, no expert with this stuff)

<Attribute
AttributeName="urn:mace:dir:attribute-def:eduPersonScopedAffiliation"
AttributeNamespace="urn:mace:shibboleth:1.0:attributeNamespace:uri"
xmlns:typens="urn:mace:shibboleth:1.0"><AttributeValue
Scope="sussex.ac.uk"
xsi:type="typens:AttributeValueType">member</AttributeValue><AttributeValue
Scope="sussex.ac.uk"
xsi:type="typens:AttributeValueType">staff</AttributeValue></Attribute>
