Dear Helen
At Glasgow my predecessor arranged in 2006 an intensive week of
activities under the branding 'One Glasgow' (copy of the programme
attached).
During 2007-08 the newly established Equalities team supported
celebratory/ information events throughout the year. The attendance was
reasonable. A great deal of work went into arranging, publicising the
events between the Equality & Diversity Unit (EDU), Students Rep Council
and appropriate academic depts Etc. Please check the events listing on
the EDU's website and click on One Glasgow:
http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/equalitydiversity/oneglasgow/
We are planning 6 equality strand based events for 2008-2009 and have
asked our staff networks and the equality working groups to contribute
ideas etc.
For 2009-10 we are envisaging a dedicated week of events. The latter was
recommended by the Equality & Diversity Strategy Committee recently.
All One Glasgow events have been supported thus far by a budget.
Trust this info helps.
Best
Naseem

Subject: Diversity weeks
Hi all
We're considering running a Diversity Week later in the year here at
Brighton, to help raise awareness and promote engagement on E&D issues
across the institution. I understand that some of you have run similar
events in your own institutions, and I was wondering if you could let me
know what these have involved and how they have gone.
Many thanks
Helen
