Linked in Firefox - opened Windows media player - got an error message to say the extension was wrong. Tried to run it anyway but nothing happened.

Dear Colleagues,
Firstly, sorry for the short notice of this request but I am looking for
your assistance to test a web cast facility which the Strategic Health
Authority plans to utilise to allow your organisation to view video
clips from a forthcoming event taking place next week at which speakers
are to be filmed and footage posted on the web for NHS and other
organisations to access.
To verify that the technology will work to acceptable levels we have
organised for a test video clip to be accessible today. Could I ask that
you or one individual from your organisation click on the link below
between the hours of 15:00hrs and 17:00hrs (GMT) today 8th May to test
the system.
http://video-2.leedsmet.ac.uk/Asx/?mswmext=.asx&id=1271%7C4l%7CLpqiFlRb*
The above link will take you to a video clip which is approximately 26
minutes in length. I don't expect you to view the full clip but if you
could view a few minutes of it to check that it runs correctly without
problems. It would be most helpful if you could also log the results of
this test on the following webpage http://www.survey.leeds.ac.uk/webcast
<http://www.survey.leeds.ac.uk/webcast> . This will take a few moments
only to complete.
If you don't have the ability to play sound on your PC you may find it
easier to ask a colleague who has a laptop with speakers to conduct the
test.
Many thanks for your assistance with this test it is essential to verify
that people will be able to access the clips.
Regards
