Permanent, full time position
The School of Geography is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to support the
development of its portfolio of environmental programmes. This is a new
post, linked primarily to the expansion of taught postgraduate courses and
environmental research.
Applications from candidates working in any field of environmental
geography (both physical and human) are welcome, although expertise in
debates concerning climate change or GIS may be an advantage.
You should have a good first degree and have ideally completed, or be near
to completion of, a PhD in a relevant subject area, and show evidence of
published research or exceptional potential. Teaching experience at
postgraduate degree level is desirable.
Salary:
Lecturer A: £30,977 rising to £35,484 per annum.
Lecturer B: £36,467 rising to £43,023 per annum.
This is a permanent and full-time post. The salary quoted above is
inclusive of London allowance. The initial salary award will be dependent
on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment
may be subject to a probationary period of up to three years. Birkbeck
