Dear All,
Some of you may have interesting teaching experience or indeed research into the effectiveness of explicit grammar teaching for language acquisition.
I will forward any suggestion to my colleague, and I’ll post a summary of responses back to the list.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Emmanuelle

Dear colleagues
We’re currently considering making some changes to the way we teach French grammar (post-A level), especially to year one students, by creating a stand alone grammar module in the second semester of the first year.
We’d be interested to know what the current practice is in this across the sector in the UK – if anyone could give me (off-list) details on their practice, perhaps with a brief description of what seems to work and what seems not to, we’d be v grateful. It would also be interesting to know what the role of research evidence is in these choices.
Many thanks
Graeme
