Dear Colleague

As part of their regional workshop programme, Netskills will be delivering the following workshops at Newcastle University in April:

1. Writing for the Web, 29th April
-----------------------------------------------------
What is so different about writing for the web?

The ability to write and re-purpose content for the web is an important skill. Visitors can abandon your site at the click of a button if they are not enticed by what you have written. This workshop will explore a range of proven practical techniques that you will be able to take away and apply directly to your own web site authoring.

Topics covered include:
Practical writing techniques for use in the online environment
Use of active and passive verbs
Examination of web audience and intent
Practical tasks for writing for an organisation profile and audience
The difference between good web content and good web design

2. Creating Dynamic e-Learning with Dreamweaver, 30th April
-----------------------------------------------------
Adobe's Dreamweaver, the leading edge web development tool, can equally be used to create dynamic e-learning applications. Through the use of templates and the Dreamweaver CourseBuilder Extension this workshop will guide participants through the design and development of dynamic, interactive, and high order e-learning.

Topics covered include:
Introducing Dreamweaver as an e-Learning development solution
Using topic templates to create multi-disciplinary e-learning
Applying style skins to e-Learning applications
Understanding and implementing CourseBuilder's Action Manager
Inserting Interactions and Controls through CourseBuilder
Developing and scoring Assessment and Hiding the Answers
