Subject: [PSCI-COM] Science Communication Conference - FREE places
FREE places at the Science Communication Conference
19 & 20 May 2008 - Institution of Engineering and Technology, London
The application process for this year’s conference bursary scheme is now
open.
At least 32 bursaries are being funded between the Wellcome Trust and the
Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills. They will be awarded in
the following categories:
* UK science communication students
* freelancers/microbusiness (less than 10 employees)
* campaigning groups
* scientists/engineers involved in public engagement
Bursaries cover conference fees, optional attendance at the conference
dinner and up to £200 for accommodation and travel.
Bursary recipients will be selected based on how they intend to disseminate
information from the conference to others in their field. To be eligible for
a Wellcome Trust-funded bursary applicants must show a substantial element
of public engagement work in the biosciences or medical sciences.
Bursary application deadline: Monday 14 April
