The University Arts Centre, University of Toronto, is seeking a lecturer
and curator. The post will combine curating with teaching.
Because the Arts Centre houses a significant medieval collection--the
Malcove Collection--in addition to Canadian and modern collections,
the successful applicant could well be a medieval art historian. I
urge you to encourage all qualified candidates to apply for this

"The University of Toronto has posted the position of
Lecturer-0800429. Faculty of Information Studies The Faculty of
Information Studies and University College, University of Toronto,
invites applications for the position of Lecturer and Curator of the
University of Toronto Art Centre. This is a teaching-stream position
at the rank of Lecturer and will begin on July 1, 2008. We seek
candidates with a PhD. in Art History or acceptable equivalent, in a
field relevant to Art Centre Collections with experience teaching at a
post secondary institution and curatorial work at a public gallery/art
museum. The successful candidate is responsible for the care and
conservation of the University of Toronto, University College and
Malcove Art Collections. Utilizing these three collections, the
candidate will teach up to three (3) courses per year (for example:
courses on Exhibition, Internship, Material Culture of the Middle
Ages, Virtual Exhibition, etc.). With responsibility for acquisitions,
the selected candidate must have a vision for the growth and direction
of the collections as a whole. The successful candidate should also
have an active professional role in the field of art in Canada,
through publications, talks, memberships in professional associations,
