knowing nothing whatever about the Sta Susanna plaster fragment, i can
confidently and firmly assert that, based on its style (and the incidental
costume criteria), there is *no* way that it is a late-3rd/early-4th c.
artifact.
as someone wrote of it:

so, i would date it closer to the Ravenna mosaics.
