Dear Salvatore
Following my last email, I have just found it.
And so on. It is about 10 pages in in the chapter beginning "Ich
I can send you the page reference from the SW or KA tomorrow (I only have an
old East German reclam to hand just now).
best wishes
Jo (Catling)

Subject: Rilke and Memory
I'm a PhD student researching the works of Hermann Hesse at the University
of
Salford. A couple of days ago I happened to hear an aphorism by Rilke on
RADIO
4, which went roughly: "it is important to remember but much more important
is
to forget". I've been trying in vain to retrieve the source of that
quotation;
I have googled different combinations of the words "Vergessen" / "Erinnern"
along with "Rilke" and have also searched for it on zitat.de. Is there
anyone
who can help with this?
Kind regards,
Salvatore Campisi
