We are seeking an enthusiastic researcher with a strong interest in health services research and medical statistics.
The post will be based in the Office for Research and Clinical Audit, a collaboration between the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. These institutions play a leading role both nationally and internationally in shaping and guiding large-scale studies of healthcare quality.
The post-holder will participate in a programme of research funded by the Department of Health that aims to assess the value of combining administrative and clinical databases and record linkage for the assessment of patient safety and the outcome of obstetric and gynaecological care in the UK. A contribution to the development of new high profile national studies of the quality of gynaecological and obstetric care is also expected.
Applicants should have a PhD qualification or equivalent higher degree in health services research, statistics, epidemiology or a related discipline. It is essential that they have experience of designing, managing and analysing large databases.
The post is offered full-time for 3 years. The salary will be on the Lecturer scale (£39,149 - £44,836 per annum inclusive), depending on qualifications and experience.
