The School of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology, The University of
Liverpool and the CAA UK Chapter committee would like to invite you to
submit a paper or poster presentation for the CAA UK Chapter
conference 2009.
The conference is to be held in the Victory Museum and Gallery,
University of Liverpool on the 6th and 7th February 2009.
Registration details and further information will be released in
September.
First Call for Papers
Twenty minute papers and poster presentations are invited on any
subject within the broad sphere of archaeological computing. We intend
to put together an interesting and varied programme and will be
pleased to consider submissions on any related topic. The following
suggested themes should act as a guide and starting point:
The use of IT in relation to exhibition, display, interpretation,
education, outreach and documentation within museums
Data quality, standards and access: initiatives for improving the
coverage and quality of cultural databases, and for widening access to
electronic resources
Spatial technologies and methods: computational approaches to space
including simulation, spatial modelling, spatial analysis, and spatial
theory in landscape and urban contexts
Visualisation, research and the media: three-dimensional computing
techniques for interpreting and presenting archaeological data
Maritime archaeology and computing: geophysical, modelling, recording
and interpretative approaches to maritime questions
Innovative computing and statistical techniques in ceramics, lithic
analysis, osteoarchaeology, dating and other archaeological sciences
